Before the remodel, the kitchen had a U-shaped layout with a dividing wall that separated it from the living room. For a family that loves to host children and grandchildren, the layout felt closed off and interrupted the natural flow of the home. Mart Design Co. reimagined the kitchen with a more open, connected design that made everyday living and family gatherings feel easier.

The completed kitchen features Showplace Cabinetry with a soft Light Mocha painted perimeter and a Cherry Midnight stained island, creating a warm contrast between classic and elevated design. MSI Valentine countertops were used throughout the space, including a full-height stone backsplash with a custom scalloped profile above the range. Refinished red oak hardwood floors helped bring warmth back into the first floor while tying the kitchen into the surrounding living areas.

The result is a complete kitchen remodel that feels refined, practical, and deeply personal. With improved flow, durable finishes, custom cabinetry, and a large island for gathering, the space now supports the way this family lives, hosts, and makes memories together.
